The line of research opened by the WISE project, which concluded in 2024, continues to develop thanks to funding from the Italian Ministry of University and Research under the NRRP Young Researchers MSCA (NextGenerationEU) call.

Building on and complementing the work carried out in WISE, Dr. De Bonis investigates the imaginaries associated with steppe women warriors – from the Amazons to Scythian, Hun, and Mongol queens. Her principal field of analysis is contemporary French literature, with extensions to other European literary traditions and a cross-cultural approach attentive to the cultures from which these female figures originate.
